Todi sits majestically on a hill top, controlling a strategic valley to the west of Orvieto. The two cities have always been at war, even today, good blood does not run between them. The Duomo of Todi, was never finished, as the architect was murdered by assassins sent from its rival. The countryside that surrounds this beautifully medieval city is stunning, rolling hills with hamlets and small villages dot the landscape. You could say that Todi is a more rural town, it does not have the hustle and bustle that you can find in its neighbours´ streets, but its stunningly beautiful and as it is far smaller, it is a lot easier to visit. The city was once voted as the ideal city to live in by an American university.
