Todi sits majestically on a hill top, controlling a strategic valley to the west of Orvieto. The two cities have always been at war, even today, good blood does not run between them. The Duomo of Todi, was never finished, as the architect was murdered by assassins sent from its rival. The countryside that surrounds this beautifully medieval city is stunning, rolling hills with hamlets and small villages dot the landscape. You could say that Todi is a more rural town, it does not have the hustle and bustle that you can find in its neighbours´ streets, but its stunningly beautiful and as it is far smaller, it is a lot easier to visit. The city was once voted as the ideal city to live in by an American university. Many of the beautiful farmhouses and villas set in the surrounding hills have been purchased and converted into beautiful homes by American families.

Todi
A flurry of articles appeared In the 1990s anointing Todi as the ‘world’s most liveable city.’ The unwitting source of the claim was an Italophile professor of Architecture and Sustainable Studies at the University of Lexington, Kentucky, Richard Levine. At a conference in Todi entitled ‘Sustainable Cities of the Past and the Sustainable City of the Future,' Dr. Levine cited Todi as an example of a town that in medieval times had functioned self-sufficiently, gathering virtually all its needs from the farmlands immediately surrounding it. Nothing else of interest emerged during the conference, so an Italian travel press agent adjusted his words to make a good story better and did an excellent job circulating the result. Read more...

We booked Il Cerro for our honeymoon Everyday we said to each other how gorgeous the house was and that this was the best holiday we had ever been on. Before we arrived we were hoping that the house would look as lovely as it did in your pictures and in fact it looked even better in real life. We would love to return and I have already recommended Tuscany Now to, well, basically anyone who will listen!

( Il Cerro)
This is the first time I have used Tuscany Now and I really hope to book another holiday with them in the not too distant future. From start to finish the service from Tuscany Now was excellent. The concierge service was also a nice touch which you don't always get with other companies. Any questions or requests that I had were answered very quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Frances was particularly helpful.
