Independent villa | Private pool | Air conditioned bedrooms | Maid included |

Overview

Set on the crown of a small hill and surrounded by pine woods and beautiful gardens, Villa Zacconi overlooks the Camaiore Valley with a medieval village in the foreground and the Apuan Alps as a backdrop. The villa dates from the early 1900s and was built as a country retreat for Ermete Zacconi, one of the leading lights of the Italian stage and a contemporary of Eleonora Duse. Still owned by the same family, the villa has recently been meticulously renovated and now offers all the modern conveniences such as air-conditioned bedrooms while retaining its unique charm. Designed on a scale that one seldom finds in modern times, the villa features large, airy rooms and hallways decorated in an Art Deco style with the careful addition of comfortable contemporary pieces. The gardens, which include a fenced salt-water swimming pool set at the edge of the woods, are a haven of peace and tranquillity with sitting and dining areas clustered under canvas and wooden pergolas. The Villa Zacconi is opening its doors for the first time to those seeking an inspiring and restful environment in this beautiful corner of Tuscany.

Clients reviews

We love this villa, its atmosphere and its location. Cristina is a wonderful hostess, always available, nothing is too much trouble. The pool is immaculate and we love our spot on the lido too, especially the daily fish specials at 'Il Cavallone'! We will return...

Villa Zacconi was surrounded by beautiful gardens and was within walking distance to Camaiore. It was very comfortable, clean and secure. The owner was very friendly and helpful and helped to make our special evenings with the cook a delicious and memorable experience. Tuscany Now very well organized and quick to respond to questions. Provided nice options such as cook and extra housekeeping. Will use Tuscany Now again.

The property was simply amazing. Cristina was so lovely on the opening inspection and offered her assistance throughout our week. Some may have thought it surprising that we did not hire a car, however our group of 9 were all independent through the day, gathering in the evenings together at the house, and we never found it a disadvantage walking down the hill into the village for our shopping, dining and particularly, the gelato. This house is wonderful to stay at. The region is so full of exciting day trips. The train station can take you anywhere. Boat trips are at your fingertips. Or you can simply take a couple of days of your week to sit by the pool, which is painfully enjoyable. I loved this place, location and owner and could not recommend it more strongly. Brad, and my team of 8 friends.

This villa has a lot of character and a few quirks. The owner is a beautiful person who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Hilltop views are stunning. Nearby village has everything you would need. Tuscany Now great services, very attentive and forth coming. Wonderful week in a beautiful setting. Our party cannot say enough good things about the owner and how she made us feel that her home was our home away from home.

Beautiful decor & style, spacious inside and out, excellent facilities and very warm and gracious owner. While within a village limits' it is situated separately, perched on a hill with breathtaking views. We were served 4 outstanding Italian dinners in an outdoor dining area surrounded by torches. Tasty & romantic

All small details were in place. Soap, towels, spices etc etc...all those small items you spend time to find and buy typically. Also air conditioning was there...plus all plates etc were of very good quality and quantity. There was nothing we did not like: I have been in many villas and this was one of the best.
