Overview

Villa di Bagnolo is the substantial manor house of a wine and olive oil estate just outside Florence. Believed to date from the 18th century, the building has just been restored and redecorated from top to bottom, with no expense spared. A hilltop position ensures superlative views of Florence and the Tuscan countryside; for an even better look the adventurous can climb to the towers and terrace on the roof. Inside, the large, bright rooms are furnished in valuable antiques with comfortable corners for reading and relaxing. Air-conditioning in first floor bedrooms. A sweeping lawn surrounds the house, leading across to a large pool with an infinity edge and two all-weather tennis courts. The village of Impruneta is minutes away from the historic centre of Florence and a short drive from many of the famous vineyards and villages of the Chianti region.

Location

 Located immediately south of Florence, 10km/6 miles from the centre, and just north of the Chianti Classico region. The nearest shops are at Tavarnuzze, 1.5 km/1 mile; 10 minutes further along is Impruneta, a historic pottery-making centre with two beautiful chapels housing della Robbia enamels - and several good restaurants. Greve-in-Chianti, at the centre of the wine-producing area, is a 30-minute drive, and Siena is reached in less than 1 hour.

The private swimming pool, 6 x 12m/20 x 39 feet, is set into the lawn just outside the house. A large terrace offers a dining area shaded by market umbrellas. The two all-weather tennis courts overlook Florence.

Motorway exit at Firenze-Impruneta, with paved roads leading to the property’s gated drive. Parking for seven cars.

Activities

 10 minutes from tennis and 18-hole golf at the Circolo del Golf dell'Ugolino in Grassina, and from riding stables at Impruneta.

 Florence's Duomo is clearly visible from the property, as are the hills of Fiesole and San Casciano.

Staffing and Services

 - 08.00: Two members of staff, maid and waitress, arrive via the rear entrance without disturbing any guests.
They shall commence with rearranging and tidy of the sitting room and living areas. Laying of the table for breakfast.

- 08.00 – 10.00: Preparing and serving continental breakfast.
-10.00 – 13.00: With breakfast now finished the table shall be cleared, food stored, cleaning of the kitchen, making of beds, cleaning of bathrooms.

-12.00: All members of staff leave unless lunch is required. For further details please see extra services available.
-13.00 – 15.00: Optional lunch; laying of the table, preparing and served. Please see lunch menu. Table is then cleared, kitchen is tidied and cleaned.

-18.00: Cook will commence preparation of dinner if requested.

-20.00: Dinner, if required, is served in the dining room. For further details please see dinner menu. Table is cleared (shall be cleared the following day if guests have not finished by 22.00), food stored, kitchen tidied and cleaned.
-22.00: Staff depart.

- Wine is purchased at high standard local cantina’s which have a wide variety of wines from the Tuscany region and which organises wine-tasting. For further details please see extra services available. However guests may want to buy a different wine and may do so by themselves and inform the cook not to purchase any.
