Overview
San Antonio is a very pretty 19th century villa located a few paces from the main square of Castiglioncello, a fashionable seaside resort on the Tuscan coast. The house stands facing the sea at the end of a short drive that leads through a well-kept walled garden with nearly forty palm trees and a vigilant statue of San Antonio. Light and breezes fill the nicely furnished rooms through double doors opening onto terraces. There are two kitchens, one of which is fitted to professional standards to serve the dining areas inside the villa and in the garden. Air-conditioned bedrooms. A long terrace runs along most of the first floor, offering a superb spot for sunbathing and overlooking a lovely pool. Castiglioncello offers several shops, some very good restaurants and caffès, and a very nice beach - all of which are at their liveliest during the summer months. There is plenty to explore along the coast, from the beautiful old village of Bolgheri on the coastal wine road to the south to the must-see Leaning Tower in Pisa to the north.

Castiglioncello is one of the older and larger resorts along the 'Etruscan Riviera', splendidly located on a headland. The villa lies within walking distance, 300m/700 feet, of the town's main square with shops and restaurants. A white beach great for families is set just below the house. A few miles inland is the coastal Strada del Vino ('Wine Road'), which carries you through several of Tuscany's most exciting wine-producing areas, including Montescudaio and Bolgheri. It's a 20-minute drive to the port city of Livorno, and 40 minutes to Pisa.
