Overview

Miles and miles of vineyards, villages and forested hills are visible from La Casa di Lamole, situated on a hillside at the very centre of the Chianti Classico area. Designed to make the most of the view, this new restored tall and narrow house and its terraced garden unfold on three levels. The kitchen and dining loggia are at the lowest, allowing direct access to a private swimming pool set in a sweep of lawn edged with lavender. The sitting room, on the middle floor, offers a fireplace for cool evenings and a home theatre system for those sports events that simply cannot be missed. The two air conditioned bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, are at the top of the house, arguably with the best views of all.

Location

 Lamole, 5km/3 miles from the villa, is a tiny village in the heart of the Chianti Classico area consisting of a church, a bar, a small shop and a very, very good restaurant. A truly lovely 15km/9-mile drive brings you to Greve-in-Chianti where the local cooperativo offers tastings of all the area’s wines and olive oils - and, more practically, several bank, post office and pharmacy. You could spend a month touring Chianti - on foot, by bicycle or by car - without ever visiting the same village or winery twice. It’s a 45-minute run to Florence or Siena, slightly less to the famous factory outlets near Incisa Val d’Arno, slightly more to the much-photographed towers of medieval San Gimignano.
