Overview

Il Sareceno is a delightful stone farmhouse that’s set at the end of private drive in the pretty hills of Sabina, in northern Lazio. It is only 3 Km from Tarano village that can be reached only by a white road and there is no view of other houses, but only woods and country fields. Walking or biking starts directly from the house without crossing asphalt road, is possible to ride or walk several kilometers reaching unspoiled surrounding village ( Fianello, Cicignano ) through the old abandoned walking road.
It is located in a valley that is Regional Park, with lot of wild birds and animals living there. The house has been lovingly restored by its owners who transformed it into a home full of light, furnished in keep with its ancient history, but with all modern needs in a very tasteful fashion as two air-conditioned bedrooms and the sitting room on the first floor of the main house.
The swimming pool and pool loggia with garden furniture are set on a terrace, overlooking the house enjoying unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside. The interior, has the house’s original beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, a well fitted kitchen, and modern bathrooms.

Description

Location

 Romans have summered in the Sabine Hills for centuries - it offers cooler temperatures, pastoral landscapes and a network of splendid little villages - not to mention a direct rail link to Rome in less than 1 hour. The nearest village is Tarano, 3km/2 miles, with a restaurant and food shops; Borgonovo, 7km/4 miles, offers a broader choice. Walkers and bicyclists can follow a lovely path to Fianello and Cicignano.

Grounds

 Il Saraceno is surrounded by the well kept garden and the valley with nice views of the surrounding countryside. The private pool, 6 x 13 meters/18 x 39 feet, is set on the upper terrace at about 25 meters from the main villa. The road that leads to the property is a good white road of 2.5 kms.

Assistance

 Assistance is provided by the owner who speaks English and lives in Roma; 40 kms. The caretaker lives 5 kms away and he/she does not speak English. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability.
