Overview
Set in a peaceful valley just below San Gemini, a bustling and very pretty hilltop village, Il Cerro is a fully modernised farmhouse with many typically Umbrian features. Everything about the house was designed for ease, comfort and convenience, from the very well equipped fitted kitchen to the two loggias furnished for outdoor dining and lounging, and the hot tub positioned between them. The tiled floors and high, beamed ceilings keep the rooms cool in the summer, and an open fireplace provides warmth and cheer on rainy days. A lawned garden scented with roses, jasmine and rosemary surrounds the house and its pool, and leads to the edge of the forest. The view could hardly be more pastoral, an open landscape of fields and forests framed by the end of the valley.

In a lovely, untouristed part of southern Umbria known for its spectacular Roman ruins and pretty hill towns. San Gemini's shops and restaurants are a 5-minute drive away (or a 10-minute uphill hike). Excursions might include the Roman ruins at Carsulae, 10 minutes, Spoleto and Amelia, 30 minutes, or, further afield, Orvieto, Perugia and Assisi, all reached in less than 1 hour.
