Overview
Collombroso sits nestled at the end of a drive in the hills just minutes from the prettiest of the medieval cities in Umbria, Orvieto. The house has just undergone a two year restoration, the proud owners carefully converting this 400 year farmhouse into a very comfortable contemporary home. A well tended garden welcomes your arrival and leads you across to the large heated swimming pool set on a paved terrace with a large decked loggia with sofa and table for al fresco dining. The centre of gravitation in all these houses always ends up around the kitchen. Plenty of thought has gone into the design and layout of what is hard to define as a kitchen. There is a large open plan area with a sophisticated kitchen, a sitting area and a dining area which are air-conditioned, leading out under a loggia for dining al fresco. The bathrooms are modern, the bedrooms [one of which is air-conditioned] typical of a house in Tuscany or Umbria, with terracotta floors, beamed ceilings, less the tower that has wooden floors. What a wonderful property from which to explore the many secrets that Umbria has other than just enjoying the beauty of the garden and the peace and tranquillity on offer at this great home.
