Ca Testaredda

(x 4 people)

Sleeps 4 | Bedrooms 3 | Bathrooms 3 | Near Selinunte and Marsala, Sicily

Independent villa | Private pool | Air conditioned bedrooms | Maid included |

Overview

Stylish, comfortable and very contemporary, Cà Testaredda was designed expressly for Sicily’s hot summer days and cool evenings, and to match its lovely setting near the white beaches and Greek runs of Selinunte. The villa was planned and constructed by the founders of Tuscany Now, who fell in love with this part of Sicily and chose it as the site of their own holiday retreat. Surrounded by four acres of private land, including wonderful old olive trees, the house is laid out on a single level with direct access to the garden from every room through oversized French doors. High ceilings with whitewashed wooden beams contrast with walls hand-painted in Mediterranean pinks and a wonderful collection of modern Italian oils. Two loggias – one for lounging, the other, adjacent to the kitchen, for dining - are tucked under a projecting roofline, which also serves to block the sun from the bedrooms in the heat of the day. The floors are finished with a special resin-based material that has the same cooling effect as traditional tiles but is much softer on the feet. Each of the villa’s three air-conditioned bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom, with that of the master suite opening onto a private walled garden. Finishing touches include appliances by Italian design guru Angelo Pò, furnishings by Emu and iPod docking systems in each bedroom. At the foot of the garden, an infinity-edged swimming pool is ringed with wonderfully soft cushions and luxurious sun beds.

Clients reviews

Virtual pool - fantastic Lovely view across the valley being secluded and most peaceful. Beautiful place to recharge the batteries. Interspace, Castelvetrano. The staff here were superb especially behind the meat counter. As a male I do not like shopping but here I looked forward to the daily shop being unable to speak Italian but having a great time having fun trying to communicate with staff who were terrific. A lot of fun was had as our first day coincided with the Italy v England football game.

The gated community and the groves were lovely, the friendliness of Paulo and Servilio made the trip and the villa very special. They should be commended for not only being efficient and pleasant in taking care of the clients, but for being world class citizens that let everyone who comes know what a wonderful place Sicily is.

I loved the layout of the villa. The location was great and being surrounded by orange trees that we were invited to pick anytime we wanted was wonderful.

I want you to know that Martha and I had a fantastic time in your lovely villa. It was quite delightful, and we want thank you and Barbara so very much for the very generous terms that you gave us. We particularily liked the serene and peaceful surroundings and the fact that we did not have to deal with thousands of tourists. The Seliunte temples and surroundings were almost deserted and often we would be the only people there. We loved the little fishing village, and went down practically every night to watch the fishermen bring in their catch. Of course I gorged myself on your succulent oranges, and quickly switched from my usual G and T to G and freshly squeezed OJ. The Falcone family were terrific and very helpful, especially as Severio has such good english, and they made èverything go smoothly. We had intended to go off for a few more distant side trips, but we were so happy and relaxed at Ca T that we never went more than an hour or so away. Agrigento was the furthest and we were happy to stay away from big cities and didnt even go to Palma. The design of the house is perfect and although it was still too chilly to venture in to the pool, it was beautiful to look at and must be a great asset in the summer.

We really liked the villa. It was almost exactly as described on the website in terms of both location and facilities. We wanted a quiet, private location in easy reach of a reasonably sized town and it fitted the bill perfectly. It was exceptionally comfortable and well appointed and we particularly appreciated the outside space. The caretaker's son (whose name I have regrettably forgotten) was very helpful and speaks excellent English. We chose it because we wanted somewhere within easy reach of Segesta, Selinunte, Erice, Trapani and Marsala and we did all that and more without ever feeling that we were too far away. The easy access to the motorway was a real bonus. We would certainly rent it again and we would certainly rent from your company again. Everyone was very helpful. We really appreciated the accuracy of the description on the website. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted in terms of both facilities and location (we've visited Sicily before and knew what we wanted to do) and this was spot on.

Overall the villa was just wonderful with quick drive to lovely, easy town and restaurants. Great location all around, with the olive groves who could ask for more! The pool, view, large spaces, seating, bathrooms, everything perfect and made life very comfortable. We smiled every day under the olives trees, what a great garden. This is the second time I’ve booked with Tuscany Now and hope to do so again.

We loved the villa and the gardens, especially the pool area. The location was fantastic for us as we have visited Sicily many times and it was the perfect location for us for day trips to st Margareta de Belice and Menfi and Selinunte, in fact we had one of our most memorable meals ever on the beach in the natural reserve of Selinunte, seafood spaghetti and grilled spigola by torchlight on the beach, was perfect. The villa was well equipped and we enjoyed using the outdoor barbecue, nice bathrooms and bedrooms and a good size lounge area, although we were outside most of the time. It was a relief to have the air conditioning in the bedrooms. We also liked the detailed information on the best food shops in town and exactly how to get there, we used most of the recommendations and they were fantastic.

My family and I had a fantastic holiday here. It was one of the best kept and up to date villas that we have stayed in. The location was very good for us, it was away from the hustle and bustle and felt secure but not too far from amenities by car.We felt it is in an unspoilt area of Sicily, which is lovely. I would be very happy to spend another holiday there at some point in the future.

We did really like the villa and the photos on line were a very accurate representation of what we found: plenty of character and quite cosy. We did like the homily touches such as the cookery book, maps, DVDs etc. Outdoor cooking area was fantastic we used it every night to grill meat, veg and fish. The property was lovely, quiet and relaxing and with our rental car was a great base for exploring that side of sicily.Overall we had a really great time and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet break in a lovely part of the island and will consider returning again in the future!
