Overview A classic 16th century villa, Villa di Masseto is set at the edge of a tiny hamlet just north of historic Fiesole and easily within dining distance of Florence. A very careful and costly renovation in the past year has restored the villa to its former glories, preserving its enormous charm while adding all the features of a contemporary country retreat: stylish bathrooms for each bedroom and a kitchen to suit the fussiest cook. Three spacious sitting rooms and two loggias ensure plenty of room for a large party to spread out, although sunny days are likely spent by the pool in the villa’s spectacular terraced garden. There are wonderful views of the countryside from the garden and almost every room in the villa but none so sweeping as from the master suite in the tower, which has its own living area and breakfast kitchen.
