Villa Tramonti is a large and very beautiful stone farmhouse dating from the 15th century. It stands at the centre of a wine- and olive oil-producing estate in the very heart of the Chianti Classico region, just outside Castellina-in-Chianti. The house and its gardens enjoy truly magnificent views of the Tuscan countryside stretching as far as Siena and San Gimignano. Inside, English, Flemish and Italian antiques are showcased by the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings, while modern luxuries such as a jacuzzi bathtub, satellite television and a small gym are discreetly tucked out of sight. The kitchen is particularly wonderful, with professional appliances and a big fireplace. An extraordinary swimming pool set below the farmhouse laps at the base of a stone barn that has been converted into a pool/guest house.
