At the base of the Pratomagno highlands in the fertile valley of the Arno River, wonderful country for walking and horseback riding. Campogialli, 1km/0.5 miles from the property, is a little village with a single shop about 30 minutes' drive west of Arezzo. San Giustino, 1.5km/1 mile, boasts a good restaurant, tennis courts and riding stables, while Loro Ciuffena, 7km/4 miles, offers a range of shops and a 13C church with fantastic carvings. The Chianti region is just across the valley, with tastings at Gaiole's cooperativo, 40 minutes, a good place to start.

Assistance is provided locally by the very helpful owner of the property, who speaks a little English and lives in a separate house on the estate with her four friendly dogs. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability.
