In the historic south-eastern corner of Sicily, near the Unesco heritage sites at Noto, 8.5km/5 miles, and Syracuse, 27km/ 17 miles. The nearest shops and restaurants are at Avola, 3km/2 miles, which has become increasingly well known for its local red wine, the Nero d’Avola. The villa is situated along the SS115, the main artery for this region, but set well back from the road so that few traffic noises reach it. The coast is fringed with white sand beaches and there are wonderful walking trails by the sea in the protected area of Vendicari, 30km/19 miles.

Assistance
Assistance is provided locally by the property's very helpful owner/caretaker, who lives in a separate apartment on the upper floor of the house; he does not use the pool or garden while guests are present.
