The Villa Fanti is a splendid seventeenth century manor house in the lush wine-making area between Brescia and little Lake d’Iseo, known for its sparkling white wines and deep reds. Aristocratic palaces, medieval towers and ancient abbeys abound in the area, as well as splendid walking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails. Set in a tiny hamlet, within walking distance of shops, the villa offers the full gamut of period features, from soaring vaulted ceilings to frescoed walls. A succession of large sitting rooms and cosy studies, and a spectacular dining room for twenty, provides ample space for a large group with a kitchen scaled and equipped to cope. Although elegantly furnished, this is nonetheless a family home that children will enjoy exploring. Outside, a glorious portico along the length of the house offers a wonderful setting for alfresco meals and lounging in the shade. The swimming pool is set in the villa’s fenced garden with a remote-controlled cover for safety.
