In a rolling patchwork of farmlands north-west of hilltop Montecastello di Vibio and its castle, 25 minutes, and Todi, Umbria’s toniest hill town, 30 minutes. Tiny San Venanzo, 2km/1.5 miles, has little to offer in the way of food shops or restaurants, but both Todi and Marsciano, 5km/3 miles, are very well supplied. This is wonderful walking and driving country, with hundreds of villages sprinkled among the hills. The high point of the year in San Venanzo is May 18th, when the local saint is celebrated.

The tennis court lies across the garden, about 150m/yards from the house.

Assistance is provided locally by the property's caretakers, a couple that has looked after Villa Emma for many years; they speak a little English and live nearby. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability.
