Il Conventino is a beautiful 15th century villa built around a defense tower, and located a short drive to the north-east of Florence. Set on a hilltop at the end of a long private road that winds through the estate's two hundred acres of olive groves and vineyards, the villa faces south and captures long hours of sunshine and breathtaking views across hills and valleys. Il Conventino was lovingly restored by its present owners, a prominent Florentine family, who furnished it very comfortably with antique and modern furniture in keeping with the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. The kitchen is well equipped and has a dining table for sixteen. A beautiful loggia, ideal for al fresco dining, runs the length of the front of the villa overlooking the valley. A series of terraces with sweeping views extend below the house, the first with a barbecue and loungers, the second with the swimming pool.
