La Torre di Paciano was constructed over a thousand years ago as a lookout tower to survey the old road between Perugia and Chiusi. Very carefully restored within walking distance to the nearby village, this national monument has been reborn as a unique country retreat with, as one would expect, panoramic views. Form its large swimming pool, set on a lawned terrace it enjoys stunning views of lake trasimeno, and of the hills and mountains leading up to cortona and Tuscany. The gardens are lovely, with an area set aside for shady walks under towering trees and a sweep of lawn leading to a stone terrace with a barbeque and outside dining area overlooking the pool.
