A lovely rambling farmhouse arranged on several levels around a medieval watchtower and an Etruscan grotto, Torre del Melograno ('Pomegranate Tower') sits just below the crest of a hill in the lush farmlands along the Tuscany-Lazio border. Artistically restored and decorated, the house centres on a long sitting room with beamed ceilings, skylights and glass doors opening to the outside. Terraces and loggias furnished for dining and lounging are positioned to capture wonderful views of wooded hills and valleys. The garden is sprinkled with contemporary sculptures and natural caves that can be lit at night. A path leads down to a swimming pool set on a terrace at the edge of the garden with plenty of teak loungers for an afternoon in the sun.
