Castiglioncello is one of the older and larger resorts along the 'Etruscan Riviera', splendidly located on a headland. The villa lies within walking distance, 300m/700 feet, of the town's main square with shops and restaurants. A white beach great for families is set just below the house. A few miles inland is the coastal Strada del Vino ('Wine Road'), which carries you through several of Tuscany's most exciting wine-producing areas, including Montescudaio and Bolgheri. It's a 20-minute drive to the port city of Livorno, and 40 minutes to Pisa.

A green, palm-shaded oasis in a lively beach resort. The swimming pool, 5 x 10m/16 x 32 feet, is set immediately outside the house and down a few steps from the terrace. Note that noises from the town, road and railway [100m/110 yards away] reach the house.
