The peaks of the Chianti are visible from the swimming pool of this lovely 15th century farmhouse, set just south of the Arno River outside Florence. A medley of old stones makes up the rustic façade of the house, its wide arched entrance a typically Tuscan feature that speaks of its agricultural past. The interior, however, has been very creatively updated, the traditional beamed ceilings and terracotta floors accented with brightly painted walls and contemporary furnishings. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor dining and lounging areas, the most picturesque being on the sunny terrace of the enormous swimming pool. The property is surrounded by olive groves that produce a most delicious oil. Assistance is readily available from the owner of the property who lives in a separate wing of the house.
