Many a Tuscan hamlet began with a single farmhouse; as the farmer’s children married, new wings or attached residences sprouted to form one of the charmingly asymmetrical clusters that are sprinkled throughout the region. Very simply furnished, it offers itself as a centrally-located base of explorations: many of the best-known parts of Tuscany, from Chianti to San Gimignano, can be reached within an hour’s drive. Each of the six bedrooms has its own modern ensuite bathroom, and an indoor hot tub offers the perfect antidote to a busy day of sightseeing. .
