Overview
High on the western flanks of Monte Amiata, overlooking a vast stretch of the Val d'Orcia, Le Pianore and Maladina are two adjacent properties made up of three classic stone farmhouses. While packed with traditional Tuscan features and charm, the houses are thoroughly modern in terms of fittings and function. With an eye to year-round use, large glass doors open to the garden for the summer while open fireplaces bring warmth and cheer to reading nooks and dining areas in cooler seasons. The main house, Le Pianore, offers wonderful views from its setting on a promontory and a large garden with loggias and pergolas for lounging and alfresco meals that slopes down to a swimming pool. Maladina, smaller but just as pretty, is set on the other side of the estate's valley, a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk. A separate building between the two offers a large, wood-beamed room that has been used for exercise and yoga classes. This is a very peaceful property with wonderful opportunities for walking and horseback riding at the doorstep.
