In the hills, on the border with Tuscany and set between the tiny hilltop villages of Montegiove and Montegabbione, lies Pergoletto, a delightful 14th century farmhouse surrounded by its own orchards and woodlands. Lovingly restored by its present owners, the farmhouse is enjoying a new life as a spacious and very comfortable country retreat. Remnants of the past are evident in the flagstone floors, the beamed ceilings and the old wooden staircase. At the heart of the house is a lovely country kitchen with fitted marble counters and a long antique breakfast table, and a unique living room with an open fireplace, vaulted ceilings and stone archways. Two loggias, one off the kitchen and another attached to the pool house, provide wonderful settings for al fresco meals and shady afternoon naps. The swimming pool lies at the end of a broad sweep of lawn with lovely views of the countryside.
