Malavigione is a lovely little 17th century stone farmhouse tucked into a hillside high above the valley of the Arno River. Extremely private, the house is accessed by means of a long road that crosses the property's fifty acres of olive groves and woodlands. Inside, the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings have been preserved and matched with charming local antiques. Comfortable couches and a fireplace in the living room, cosy bedrooms and a delightful kitchen make this a snug, cheerful hideaway at any time of the year. An informal but beautifully maintained terraced garden leads across to a stone barn fitted with a loggia and down to a hot tub strategically placed to make the best of a glorious view. Situated exactly halfway between Florence and Arezzo, Malavigione provides an ideal base for sightseeing excursions throughout central Tuscany.
