Le Lepri 'The Hares', sits high in the hills of the Casentino, a beautiful wooded region which runs between Pratovecchio in the north and Arezzo to the south. A very old stone farmhouse with a deeply Tuscan personality, it has been very nicely restored and discreetly updated with a range of modern amenities. The traditional terracotta floors and beamed ceilings remain, and every room is a step or two higher or lower than its neighbour. The furnishings combine very nice antiques with comfortable modern pieces. A paved swimming pool and a large, furnished loggia are set above the house on a sweep of lawn, enjoying superb views of the countryside. There is a magical quality about the Casentino, birthplace of Michelangelo, sometime home to Dante Allighieri and site of several influential medieval monasteries and abbeys.
