In Sicily’s hilstoric south-east, best known for the Baroque cities of Ragusa and Noto, both of which lie within 20km/12.5 miles of the property. The nearest shops are in Scicli, 2.5km/1.5 miles, almost as famous for its lovely centro storico. Modica, 8km/5 miles, is a wonderful, vibrant city stretched along several hilltops. There are sand or rock beaches within a 10km/6-mile drive to the south or east, as well as a World Wildlife Fund reserve that offers magnificent seaside hikes. Excursions further afield might include Catania, Syracuse and the extraordinary mosaics of Piazza Armerina which feature bikini-clad athletes from over 2,000 years ago.

A beautiful garden with a broad lawn lies on the othefar side of the pool. Two outdoor showers.
