Le Celle is an idyllic country retreat set on a hillside at the very centre of the Chianti Classico region, within walking distance of the tiny village of Lecchi-in-Chianti. The property is made up of three stone buildings (and a caretaker’s cottage) set in a flowering garden on various terraces. Beautifully furnished, the main house and its two self-sufficient guest houses offer bright, spacious rooms decorated with a great deal of charm and taste in an updated Tuscan style. The large kitchen is extremely well-equipped although designed with an old world flavour in keeping with the rest of the house. Glass doors open to the garden and a delightful loggia for alfresco meals; a second dining loggia at the swimming pool lends itself to long, lazy lunches at the bottom of the garden. For chilly weather there are two enormous fireplaces, feather duvets and a satellite television. This is a wonderful area for wine-lovers, keen walkers and sightseers alike, with countless wineries, castles and quiet country roads at the doorstep.
