Picture-perfect, with a landmark row of cypress trees, Le Capanne is a glorious Tuscan farmhouse set in the foothills of Monte Cetona, near the Umbrian border. Great pains were taken during the newly-completed, two-year restoration project to preserve as much of the original, centuries-old building as possible, including the old terracotta floors and the chestnut beams used on the ceilings. The result is a very spacious country home with all the charms of an ancient building and all the comforts and conveniences of a new one, including a large, very high quality kitchen and a private, modern bathroom for each bedroom. The views - of hills, woods and olive groves - are spectacular, especially from the indoor and outdoor dining areas and from the private swimming pool set on a terrace just below the house. Peaceful but not remote, the area surrounding Le Capanne is dotted with villages, most of them medieval and perched on hilltops.
