The elegant 12th century Villa sits on hillside blessed by stunning views of the rich hills near Ruffina, a famous Chianti region near to Florence. The owners of La Villa Di Petroio have found the perfect balance between the modern and the traditional. Every salvageable feature of the original building has been preserved and incorporated into an exceptionally tasteful design that offers all the practical benefits of an entirely new building. Now the centrepiece of an estate producing wine and olive oil, the Villa and its self-sufficient guest wing features bright, airy rooms with high, wood-beamed ceilings furnished in an elegant blend of antiques and contemporary pieces. Air-conditioned double bedrooms, modern bathrooms several of which ensuite make this one of our most comfortable villas to choose from. Large open plan living/dining room with a central fireplace and panoramic windows offering stunning views, a professional kitchen with a fantastic dining area has been just added the perfect setting to host a special event for up to 70 persons. A beautifully kept garden leads from the house to a secure swimming pool positioned to enjoy lovely views of rolling hills. A sense of complete tranquillity prevails at the villa, such that as time passes it becomes more and more difficult to tear yourself away. On the same 900 acre estate there is a large stone farmhouse, Il Borgo di Petroio, with its own private fenced pool that can be rented independently or with the Villa for weddings or just large family reunions. |
