Overview Torre di Pornello was originally the lookout tower for the nearby castle of Pornello, one of a series that in the Middle Ages surveyed the southern border of Tuscany. From the outside the Torre and its adjacent guest house have changed little in centuries. Their interiors, however, have been reconfigured to offer large rooms with glass doors opening to the garden, a big modern kitchen and sparkling new bathrooms. Deep couches, woven rugs and local antiques set off the old beamed ceilings and terracotta floors, in a very tasteful style that avoids clutter and highlights the best feature in each room. The dining room leads to a vine-covered pergola with a long table and a barbeque for alfresco meals. Below the house a lovely paved terrace with a large pool and plenty of garden furniture is positioned to enjoy lovely views over rolling hills and farmlands. An adjacent pool house offers two WC’s, two showers a fridge and a barbeque for impromptu lunches in the sunshine.
