La Maddalena is a sunny farmhouse set high above the sea but within earshot of the waves crashing on the rocks below. The views are spectacular, of deep blue water punctuated by the islands of Gennutri and Giglio on the one side, and terraced olive groves, orchards and vineyards on the other. The living room features floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea, with an open kitchen that leads out to a pretty vine-covered loggia. The house has the stone walls, beamed ceilings and terracotta floors typical of a Tuscan farmhouse, and is decorated with local antiques and comfortable modern furniture.
