Overview Set at the edge of a tiny hilltop hamlet midway between Florence and Arezzo, La Giclaudiere is an unusual manor house built on several levels. The house and its pretty family chapel face each other across a gated, flower-filled courtyard opening to the hamlet’s little piazza. During the month of June this tranquil hamlet comes to life with gastronomy delights and local wine tasting. A ground-level door in the courtyard leads to very comfortable guest quarters for four with a large, open sitting room and kitchen, while an elegant double stairway leads up to the main part of the house. Tiled floors, beamed ceilings and antiques set the tone for the very spacious interiors, where every possible amenity is provided. Two air-conditioned double bedrooms. The rear of the building faces open countryside, with lovely views over the property’s ten acres of olive groves and the broad valley beyond. Tucked against the house is a small garden with an outdoor dining area and a lovely private swimming pool.
