Location
Greppolischieto (pronounced 'greppoliskieto') is a tiny hamlet just north of the slightly larger Montegiove, 3km/2 miles, which boasts one shop. These and hundreds of other little villages, many with a prized medieval feature, are scattered throughout the lush, hilly farmlands between Lake Trasimeno and Orvieto, a winding 50km/31 miles. It's a 45-minute drive to the lake's fortified promontory, Castiglione del Lago, or to Perugia, and just over 1 hour to Assisi.
