It's a short drive to the centre of Florence, 7km/4.5 miles, and a shorter one to Fiesole, 4.5km /3 miles. A 15-minute drive will bring you to the top end of the Chianti region - and 18-hole golf - at Grassina, from which you can follow the winding Chiantigiana road through vineyards and stone villages to Siena, 70km/44 miles.
