In an area of soft hills, terrific wine and countless medieval villages, Il Moro is a pretty villa with every comfort and convenience. On the ground floor arched glass doors flood the large, high-ceilinged living areas with light and open to terraces and a beautifully-maintained garden. The kitchen is equipped to please the fussiest cook and its square island provides one of the villa’s three eating areas, together with the delightful dining room and a long table on the terrace positioned for beautiful views of the countryside. Each of the six charmingly decorated bedrooms has its own bathroom and overlooks a portion of the property’s vineyards and olives groves, or its lovely rockeries. A large pool is set just outside the villa with an adjacent sitting area, comfortable sun loungers and, of course, a sweeping vista. A live-in caretaker in a separate wing of the villa ensures a worry-free stay. It would take a good deal more than a week to do justice to all the touring options in the area, which range from prehistoric caves to world class wineries and picture-perfect hilltowns. Keen walkers and horseback riders will enjoy the nearby Monte Rufeno Reserve, and a soak in the thermal baths of Sarteano or San Casciano dei Bagni is not to be missed.
