Overview
Set in the western part of the Chianti Classico region, near the village of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Il Giogo is an old stone farmhouse that forms part of a small Renaissance hamlet within a private estate of vineyards and olive groves. The rough stone façade belies a sensitively modernised interior where traditional features such as high, beamed ceilings and burnished terracotta floors are tastefully blended with thoroughly modern facilities. Bright sunlight and glorious views of the countryside pour into the house through picture windows. A large eat-in kitchen with an open fireplace leads out under a loggia with a long dining table, providing an ideal setting for lingering al fresco meals. The swimming pool has been strategically located on a lawned terrace below the house for the best views of all.
