Set in gorgeous countryside between the hill towns of San Gimignano and Certaldo, Il Caggio is a newly renovated farmhouse surrounded by vineyards and chestnut forests. The interiors of both the main house and its one-bedroom guest house are decorated in a traditional style, with the high, wood-beamed ceilings and the tiled terracotta floors that have kept Italian houses cool through centuries of hot summers. The bedrooms are beautifully finished, many of them with four-poster beds and all with thoroughly modern ensuite bathrooms. The fitted kitchen serves two indoor dining rooms as well as long table under a loggia in the garden, strategically positioned for the best views of Tuscany’s famous rolling hills. A large swimming pool lies between the two buildings, its stone terrace amply supplied with sun loungers and umbrellas.
