Overview A tiny aerie for two, Il Bambu nestles into a hillside within a working wine estate near Lucca. Originally a small barn, the building has been newly converted into a pretty cottage with a glorious view over a valley dotted with farm buildings to a distant range of mountains, the Alpi Apuane. The interior is entirely modern with a high, wood-beamed ceiling and glass doors opening onto a small terrace. A terrific base for sightseers, whether on foot or bicycle or in a car, medieval Lucca is only a few kilometres away as are the graceful Renaissance villas for which the area is known.
