Civitella d'Agliano, a remarkably well-preserved Etruscan/medieval village, lies in northern Lazio, close to the southern border of Umbria. The village is a maze of narrow cobbled streets and steps, with few tourists save the occasional art student or visitor to the local wine estate. Winding roads lead from the village to key sights in both regions within about 30 minutes: the Villa Lante, Bomarzo and Lake Bolsena in Lazio, and Orvieto and Lake Corbara in Umbria.
