Overview Tuscan farmers of old clearly saw a relationship between beautiful views and happy livestock; indeed, why else would Giuncaia occupy such a magnificent site? The former farmhouse is comprised of a long row of old stone buildings, all facing an endless vista of rolling hills and meadows. Much of the original woodwork has been retained or reused in this lovely conversion, and has been complemented by comfortable, tasteful furnishings. Glass doors lead from an open plan living-dining room with a big fireplace to a loggia for dining alfresco. A second loggia provides an outdoor sitting area with a billiards table. The garden unfolds above the house and includes a pretty vine-covered allée and a private swimming pool on a sunny terracotta terrace. The Maremma is a marvellous spot for a get-away-from-it-all holiday, especially for keen walkers and equestrians; there are, however, two terrific villages within a short drive of the villa, as well as the larger town of Grosseto.
