Situated 3km/2 miles from Panzano, one of the prettiest and oldest villages of the Chianti, where there are shops, restaurants and bicycles for hire. Greve-in-Chianti, 8km/5 miles or 15 minutes, is probably the best place to sample local wines as every street boasts at least one enoteca or cantina. Siena can be reached within about 35 minutes and Florence in under 1 hour.

A large and very pretty country garden with lovely old trees. The property includes 20ha/48 acres of land, largely given over to olive, oak and chestnut trees. The semi-circular pool, 6 x 12m/20 x 40 feet, with a minimum depth of 1.5m/5 feet, is set on a partially shaded flagstone terrace about 40m/130 feet from the house.

Assistance is provided locally by the property's very helpful and discreet English-speaking owner/caretaker, who lives in the upper part of the main house with independent entrance. Services included in the rental fee, and optional services available, are noted under Price and Availability.

Tennis within 10 minutes at Greve-in-Chianti, riding stables 20 minutes and 18-hole golf within 30 minutes at the Circolo del Golf dell'Ugolino. Chianti is a wonderful area for walking and biking.
