Casa Filippo is a pretty 14th century farmhouse set on a hillside within over 100 acres of olive groves, vineyards and woods. It is comfortably furnished in a Tuscan style with antiques and local artisans' work. A spacious sitting room with a fireplace leads to a large shady loggia with a dining table for al fresco meals. The loggia in turn leads to a paved terrace with garden furniture overlooking the swimming pool. There is plenty to see in the immediate area, where villages, monasteries and ruined castles dating back several centuries can be reached on foot as well as by car. Conveniently for those with a special interest in Florence, a small train from nearby Le Sieci carries you to the city centre in minutes.
