Casa Bellaria is an 18th century farmhouse built around a medieval defence tower that was positioned to survey the road leading between Rome and Florence. The panoramic view remains, sweeping over rolling fields, vineyards and olive groves, and visible from virtually every point in both the house and garden. Inside, the owner has updated the building as a comfortable country home while preserving the original tiled floors and beamed ceilings. A swimming pool is set on a terrace at the edge of the lawn with a loggia for shade. Cool in summer with two large fireplaces for warmth in the fall and spring, the Casa Bellaria provides a wonderful base for keen walkers and for visiting Etruscan, Roman and medieval sites throughout the Lake Trasimeno region.
