In the fertile, hilly farmlands to the north-west of Lake Trasimeno below the walled hilltop city of Cortona, 15 minutes. The nearest shops are at Pergo, 3km/2 miles. The property lies just west of an ancient battlefield at Tuoro sul Trasimeno, where Hannibal famously trounced a Roman army many times larger than his own, and north of the fortified promontory of Castiglione del Lago. Perugia and Assisi can be reached within about an hour's drive.
